TGIF Weekly 10

T . G. I. F.  Weekly

Welcome ! This is a feature that will share 3 books I have on my to-read list.  These are books I have gotten my hands on, pulled aside and are therefore my top reading choices of the moment.
My goal is to read at least one or more of them between today and the following Friday.  Books may be fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels or anything else that might by fun or interesting to read.

Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies #1)
"R is having a no-life crisis—he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he is a little different from his fellow Dead. He may occasionally eat people, but he’d rather be riding abandoned airport escalators, listening to Sinatra in the cozy 747 he calls home, or collecting souvenirs from the ruins of civilization.

And then he meets a girl.

First as his captive, then his reluctant guest, Julie is a blast of living color in R’s gray landscape, and something inside him begins to bloom. He doesn’t want to eat this girl—although she looks delicious—he wants to protect her. But their unlikely bond will cause ripples they can’t imagine, and their hopeless world won’t change without a fight"
So, I really want to read the book before I see the movie when it comes out on DVD.   The reviews I have read make the book sound better than the movie trailer even so here goes!

One Piece, Volume 18: Ace arrives (One Piece, #18)
"As a child, Monkey D. Luffy dreamed of becoming the King of the Pirates. But his life changed when he accidentally gained the power to stretch like rubber…at the cost of never being able to swim again! Now Luffy, with the help of a motley collection of pirate wannabes, is setting off in search of the "One Piece," said to be the greatest treasure in the world...
The Straw Hats at long last reach Alabasta! They make landfall in the port town of Nanohana where they encounter an incredible character that's directly related to one of the crew! Meanwhile the Baroque Works' agents are summoned to Rainbase to meet their leader for the first time. Their leader, the dastardly Mr. 0, aka Sir Crocodile, learns that Luffy has survived and orders his immediate extermination!"

I have really enjoyed this series so far.  I did not think I would care for it.  Yet here I am, still amused.  Plus, I have a hectic week so I need something light to read.

 The Exemeus (The Exemeus, #1)
"Hyalee Smith is dead, she just doesn’t know it yet.

Her short life was devoted to love and to hate. Love of the man who stole her heart, hate for the man who stole the world. Murdered by the government she swore to destroy, she has been given another chance to make it right. But to save the planet, she needs the help of the most powerful mystic the world has ever seen—unfortunately he hasn’t been born yet.

In a world where fear is the only currency, Dephon has committed the ultimate crime:inspiring hope.

His only goal is to make it safely through ninth grade, but on a post-apocalyptic Earth run by the Treptonian government, it isn’t that simple. Heir to a legendary power, Dephon Johnson is the only threat to the government’s rule. And on Trepton, all threats must be eliminated. When hundreds of assassins are dispatched to neutralize him, Dephon is forced to fight back. His only chance of survival is to enlist the aid of the greatest warrior the world has ever known. The only problem is, she's been dead for 13 years."
This book is a review book that is nearly due and finally got (I hate when you get a book with less than 2 weeks until the review is due) it.  Plus it sounds and looks really cool!!
